Enrolled credit students of Howard Community College who want to become more efficient and successful learners can obtain academic support services at the Learning Assistance Center. Free group tutoring is available for most courses. Individual tutoring provided by professional and peer tutors are also available, as well as workshops, math reviews, study skills enhancement, and English language assistance.
The Wellness Center at Howard Community College offers different educational programs and workshops, regular wellness activities, and referrals to promote optimal wellbeing and ensure that students are developing all aspects of growth and improvement, from the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual, to the intellectual and environmental as well. Services offered include Massage Therapy, Acupuncture, Zero Balancing, Health and Wellness Fairs, Blood Pressure Screening, General Health Screenings, Health Promotion Seminars, and Relaxataion Therapy at the Relaxation Room. Also, Smoking Cessation Classes are available free of charge.
Students who want to enhance their leadership skills have plenty of opportunities on the campus of Howard Community College, such as Leadership Mondays, a monthly workshop for development of leadership skills and abilities. The Student Government Association also sponsors leadership initiatives, and invites speakers to workshops and lectures on campus.
